Featured Replies

Cruising Autotrader & spotted this oddity at Meadons Skoda,OY12 reg (poss Skoda uk?) Fabia Vrs with 400 miles from new, many extras climate,cruise,4x electric windows, headlamp washers, checked mot history & it failed 1st mot on headlamp aim!!! & the price for all this exclusivity....£12,450!!! Must come with a lifetime supply of Castrol Edge...

I saw that a couple of weeks ago -- four-year-old car with 400 miles on the clock - strange!

There's a 2013 with just over 3,000 - it comes with a hideous Skoda badge decal on the bonnet.

Tis the one.

I picked my 2013 up with 4500 last week I thought that was low!!

Pulled previous owner info from service book to confirm it was genuine

It would be interesting to know the story of the 400 mile car.

Showroom / Display or at Skoda, or just garaged up.

Last year it had no MOT between May and December.

The Headlights set too low and failing the MOT are not unusual, Skoda sent them to the UK like that often enough.

If it has all that the Advert Suggests then someone ticked many boxes ordering that car.

Sunroof, Washers for the lights, Electric Windows front and rear, Arm Rest.

400 miles ,with no. 3 year warranty on oil issue or DSG? Happy days?

I paid approx £12500 for my 2000 miles demo with 2yd 9 month warranty on a 10 plate

I thought that.

It could be a complete lemon, just nobody knows it yet.

Id factor in the cost of an extended warranty too. Be silly not to imo.

I bought this car! I too was concerned about the mileage, CAVE issues etc. I'm not far from Sway Skoda so went and took a look. The main reason for doing so was I had to try and park ex a '56 plate 1.9 Cdti Astra with no end of issues such as failing gear box, clutch for the second time and air con pump. It was only on 92000 miles! I had to get rid.

The fabia was owned by Skoda Uk as a display car in their HQ. I also wanted a car to last me. I'm not one for chopping one in every couple of years, so the mileage on this one attracted me. I bought a '51 Octy Vrs in 2007 with 20000 miles on the clock. It's still going strong and has not had any issues what so ever. Its on 87000 miles now. I hoping this Fabia will go on in the same way......

I have had it two weeks now and absolutely love it! It's got every option bar heated seats. It's just got to 1000 miles now and running like a rocket!

I took out gap insurance with Frank Pickles as advertise on here just in case. 10000 of cover for car replacement cost £102 which was much less expensive than any other online quote. Skoda finance wanted 320 quid!

I tried to sell the Astra before buying a car but it wouldn't sell because of its issues, I was given 1300 quid so I bit the bullet and went for it.

I'm braced for being shot down in flames after reading this thread!

Mark.

Congratulations. Enjoy it.

What did you get in the way of a Warranty, 1 or 2 years?

Good work.

I'm coming up for five years of ownership and I'm still enjoying the car. Just back from a 700-mile round trip and it performed perfectly.

You've got a warranty should any issues surface. Long may yours run.

Thanks guys, the dealership would only give me the usual 12 month used warranty with it but the salesman said I can extend it by contacting Skoda which I will do for piece of mind. Negotiating was like getting blood out of a stone!

Glad it's running well, and it should only get better as the engine gets run in! Can't believe a 4yr old car has barely moved! The MPG and general performance should get better as it loosens up :)

Nosey, but what Servicing has been done on it, any records?

A favour please.

Since it is an Ex Skoda Display Vehicle.

Can you check there are  no outstanding Service Campaign Actions.

ie, DSG, Heated Seat Element or anything else.  Plenty are outstanding even on Skoda Approved Used Cars.

(Is there a sticker in the boot to show the Service Campaign on the DSG was done, or anything in the Service Book.)
