Tried the new fallout 4 "automatron" dlc yesterday. Interestingly it was harder than vanilla fallout. I'm using the only character I've played through and got to level 87, and many of the new enemies are level 88 with pretty strong guns and damage resistance. (I've been playing on "survival" to get a better chance of interesting legendaries which should be making it tougher too though). I guess I'd got into bad habits from being able to go pretty much anywhere in the original map without worrying, whereas now after dying 5 times in the first encounter inside a building I'm thinking "hmmm - better learn about the different grenades and bring the kneecapping gatling laser / wounding minigun". Run away and hide in the toilets worked well.

Have to say I am enjoying the Automatron DLC - still not completed the main story arc but in no great hurry to. Really good the level of customisation you can have with the robots.

Now finished - I _really_ enjoyed it. I ended up taking two Gauss rifles though (instigating and mighty). I never really used a Gauss before due to pricy ammo and because Overseer's Guardian worked so well. At times it was firing multiple times in VATS and filling up my saved criticals which I don't understand yet. But not complaining.
