Isofix

Featured Replies

Having read the handbook I am non the wiser!

Can someone please tell me how to use the isofix fittings on the rear of my Yeti? I can't even find them, doh !

Thanks in advance,

Steve.

On the rear outer seats you'll find the Isofix tags.
About 2" outboard of them is a vertical slot in the seat.
That is where the Isofix "legs" go into and lock.

If you have a child seat with a tip forward preventative strap, that fixes to a bar at the bottom rear of the seat and is marked as such with a plastic tag.

What he said. You will have to prise the seat cushion away from the seat back to actually see the ISOFIX latch and it can be a bit awkward to actually locate a seat on it at first. My Maxi-cosi seats came with yellow inserts that you could put onto the latches that kept the cushions apart and gave freer access to them.

The rolls of paper show where the isofix tabs go into.

Ah yes, now I remember! They are a right pain to get to as you try and heave a seat into place whilst parting the material of the seat to get two spars to locate on the latches, without trapping any material in there. Many a choice swear word has been issued.

Ignore what I wrote above, that's my other car!

It also makes it a lot easier to fit if the seat is reclined a bit until the child seat is fitted then snugged up to it.

Sorry about the delay but I have been without the internet for a while.

Thanks for the great advice and info. I could see the isofix tags but not the slits in the leather. All sorted now, and the daughters ( and impending grandchilds) maxi-cosi contraption test fitted successfully.

Thanks again,

Steve.

A great presentation by Urrell and all sorted ready for the g'child. What more could anyone ask from a forum?
