2005 Fabia VRS - power disappearance mid journey!

Featured Replies

Hello all

When driving along the motorway yesterday i suddenly had a loss of power in my 2005 Fabia vRS.

I could still get up to about 80 mph but it struggled on hills and was extremely sluggish. Didn't hear any weird noises so it wasnt the turbo going pop. I could rev it as much as i wanted with the foot on the clutch so it wasnt in safe mode or anything.

When i got fuel and turned the engine back on it was back to normal.

Be great to hear any thoughts or ideas for what it could have been.

Cheers

Someone else will advise soon enough I am sure, but with the turning off and on then working, might be worth searching 'Mr Muscle' on here to see sticking vanes turbo issues and see if what you find sounds familiar. Also get a good scan for codes is always a good place to start from. Might be someone local with VCDS on the forum if you have no way of looking yourself.

Overboost most likely.
