Another question about MFSW

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Sorry to start another new thread about steering wheel but all I have found made me absolutely confused. My car, preFL elegance 2008, has got factory fitted MFSW, maxidot and cruise control. Although all work fine, I don't like position and "feel" of the buttons on the steering wheel and want them change. Originally I wanted to get sw from golf or similar with flat bottom but these are quite expensive so sw from superb or fl octavia will make me happy. There is one in for sale section but before I buy it I want to ask if it will work in my car without changing any other parts? I'm happy to use buttons on the stalks to control cruise control and maxidot + I'm using android aftermarket head unit so can map the buttons to it but will be all buttons recognised by the sw controller? I will scan the car later on and post part numbers of controllers.

Thanks

If the MFSW you've seen in the for sale section is the one I'm selling you will also need an airbag, as preFL and FL ones are different.

Yes I know. Need to find out if it is straight swap first. Thanks

you also need a different controller to fit a fl wheel

Thanks for confirming this Eddie. By any chance do you have a part number of suitable controller?

Ahh screw it. Just been reading this thread and alongside new controller, new stalk for cruise control would be needed to.

Looks like I'm gonna stick with the wheel I have then.
