Finally got chance to collect my new car today.

First impression is that it's spot on. Nice and smooth and oodles of power even though I'm taking it easy for the first thousand miles. Managed. 37.8mpg on the way home.

Had mine over a year and I still get a buzz from the refined power on tap - it's not a V8 but it'll do for the real world.

Got round to giving it a good wash and a machine Polish so I could add some paint protection today.

The results speak for themselves.....

Shame it was a bit overcast and I was using my camera phone. The paint is flawless.

Tdi took me about 20mins to fit and really notice the difference. DSG boxes so you can dull it Wright down on the vrs button or have it instantly on engaging sport mode by pulling the dsg gearstick down.

So we went on a run to Aberdeen yesterday. Managed 38mpg on the way there but the wife drove home and only got 33mpg.

The "soundakator" is bloody annoying after a while so I've been put this morning and disconnected it.

Still waiting for mud flaps and boot lip protector to arrive from superskoda.
