Hi.

Does anyone know if it's possible to adjusted the spring tension on the accelerator pedal? I've taken a quick look at the assembly and it looks like a 'fly by wire' type of unit and there's no obvious spring.

I'm finding the pedal a bit light and I'm constantly having to hover my foot to stop the car from speeding up and it's making my calf muscles ache after a lot of town work. I'd like to adjust it so that the weight of my resting foot would balance out the pressure on the pedal.

No adjustment unless you were to add something to it.

Have you tried adjusting the seat a bit? Height might improve your foot 'angle'.

What was the prevoius car you drove ? (a tank )

 

I find the pedal no heavy or lighter than others.

 

As above, seat position can play a key role here though.

My previous car was an 08 plate VW Passat - so quite a similar car.

I've tried a variety of different driving positions but nothing seems to help.

I'm sure I'll manufacture a solution but i thought I'd check there wasn't an obvious and easy fix.

It can't be any lighter than on the Passat, I bet its the exact same part.

I found the same problem! A lot of seat adjustment seems to have minimised the effects of the light pedal. but I suspect that it's just going to be one of those things that take some getting used to.
