Seat creasing dsg

Featured Replies

How do you sit in your seat ? My drivers seat seems to be taking a hammering on the left hand side of the seat base at the front due to my lazy fat leg ...

I know creasing in inevitable and it doesn't worry me unduly.... Unless it's only me then I need to take action :-)

I'm only slim and my seat is already fairly creased. The leather is very soft. I had my daughters bike seat on the back seat (only very light) it left a permanent dent.

Cross legged if on ACC!

Left leg is either out straight or tucked up against the seat.

Not that it helps you any Nick, but this is one of the reasons we opted for Alcantara seats. They felt much more solidly constructed (and somehow comfier), and the half leather is all in non-wearing areas.

Every time we sat in full leather seats at the showroom they seemed to have only a very thin covering of leather, which was also loosely fitted. As a result I worried about issues exactly like this. Hopefully it doesn't get any worse now the leather is broken in, and you can get on with enjoying the car. :)

Don't get me wrong it's not bad and I do like the leather. I think it's because my leg is off to the left more than it would be in a manual. Like I say I'm not really worried about it at the moment.

Simple solution.... I'm off to the garage to dig out the hacksaw....

I went for the half leather seats for that reason. Seen plenty of newish cars belonging to friends where the leather look ropey in just a few weeks/months.

I had a similar issue with the black leather in my Superb 2, after 88k miles it was very creased, but the half leather/alcantara in my O3 has worn much better after 72k miles, and it is/was much cooler/comfortable in the height of summer. I told myself that if I ever went back to full leather, it would have to be ventilated....oops, I just broke that rule, as the black leather in my new 520d M Sport is not ventilated, so hoping the Bavarian leather is from better groomed cows!

Whenever I get a new car with leather seats I tend to take the drivers seat out and replace it with a deckchair.....no creasing!!!

Any tips on keeping the deckchair in decent confition ? Seriously considering doing this .... I'm also considering my old office swivel chair.... I always fancied just spinning around while driving to see what would happen ...

This is getting very silly and immature now........personally I use synthetic seagull poo (called Ploprub, £14.99 for 500ml at Holland and Barrett), seems to keep the seating area smooth and supple, smells a bit though!
