Hi,

New to the forum. I've done a search for similar threads already, but nothing so I thought it was okay to post here.

I intend buying a skoda 1.6 or 1.9 diesel felicia estate (with the VW engine).

First Hi, you'll enjoy it here.

Now Felicia's.

First why do you want a VW engine. The Skoda 68bhp engine is worth considering as it really isn't any slower than the 1.6 (It is also cheaper on fuel)

The 1.9 Diesel seems well established though.

Main thing to look for is rust, particularly where plastic bits link with metal (i.e. the tailgate).

Also, if you do go for 1.6 or 1.9 check if the cam belt has been changed (another reason to go for the Skoda Engine).

However they are fairly bullet proof so you should be OK.

The 1.3 unit isn't that bad either. It will happy sit on the motorway and is rather nippy. Though I'm not sure what it's like with a heavy load.

Only downside I can tell is the brakes (atleast on my 1.3 estate) I really wouldn't want to need to stop in a hurry with a load onboard. But then it maybe that I'm used to the brakes of the furby

Welcome to Briskoda

Welcome from a Felicia 1.6 owner. :D
