Just ordered a Fabia Sport

Featured Replies

Got a cracking deal on a Fabia 1.2 Sport at the weekend. Delivery is going to be 2/3 weeks. Got the dealer to colour code the front grill and supply the black side repeaters too !

Can't wait to have it sitting on the drive next to the Octy ! Both are black.....

Will post some pics when we pick it up.

Sounds good

fabia sport 1.2 the ones I have seen are 1.4 did not know they did a 1.2

they dropped the 1.4 16v in favour of the 1.2 12v... in comparason a better engine and more favourable for target buyers... students who want sporty looking car but cant afford the insurance. They also now have dark tinted windows, leccy windows and red seatbelts as standard.

The 1.2 12v is a cracking engine. The next car I will get will be a Sport 1.2 but that is a few years away yet.

does its job well the 1.2 12v... i live in town and its brilliant there although I drive from london to oxford nearly every other weekend and it does motorways brilliantly and country roads although it has to be said if i lived out of town id prefer a 1.4 16v 100bhp or any of the 1.9 diesel versions

Anyway vRS next year

I think that car really does lok the part. Who would guess it is a 1.2  Nice first car.

Any vRS' you race!!

I was looking at one of the 1.4 sport for my wife thats after I got the vrs fabia. So a 1.2 sport should be cheaper on fuel and ins

drove the sport 1.4 75bhp before getting my comfort 1.2 64bhp and i can honestly say the 1.2 was the better of the two. As it happens it was the dealer that swayed me to the comfort even though it was a loss to him as used comfort was cheaper than the used sport. His words were 'the 1.4 is asthmatic'

Anyway each to there own, i love my 1.2, but won't miss it for a single second when i get my vRS!!

We have brought it as a second car, cheap to run and insure. I have got a set of 17inch vRS rims ready for the summer as my Octy will have the 18inch RS4s back on it !

i thought the 1.2 drove really nicely.

Andy

I dorve the 1.2 and was very impressed - quieter than the Octavia at 70mph.

I have a Fabia Sport courtesy car out today. AFAIK it says 16v on the back.

Overall impression is very good, sits nicely on the m/way at 80+ and very quiet with it. Handles well and is solid and spacious. The sound system is surprisingly good too, and i love the leather steering wheel.

Downside has to be the absence of leccy windows and central locking (that would get on my tits for everyday use). :thumbdwn: And the SPort seats are uncomfortable after a while. The arches at the top of the seat are far too narrow and dig into my shoulder blades. I am 6'2" and 14 stone but not overly broad. Im sure a sub 5'6" driver would find the seats incredibly comfy.

Rating: 4/5 (only losing out becuase it could have been so good if they had put some more thought into it.)

Sounds like you've got the old version there. The new (1.2 12v one) has put right many of the gripes of the original, apparently...

I have heard the 1.2 sport is much better the the 1.4 too. I had a 1.4 sport when I took my vrs in for a service. The 1.4 is a truly awful engine. My dads 1.3 automatic hyundai would leave it for dead. Was so glad to give the piece of junk back at the end of the day

Dont be silly I have the fastest road going diesel car you can buy. Certainly not junk. :P

I diddnt know you'd sold the Fabia - care to elaborate?

Still have the fabia. It can beat any car it comes up against on the open road (even a Veyron). Especially uphill and through the twisties

must have great "in gear" acceleration ;) I'll search for more information on this beast ;)

How much?

I know the price has come down considerably from when they first started selling with the 1.4.( I slated it because it originally cost too much IMHO)
