Anti Siphon

Featured Replies

Does the MK2 VRS diesel have an anti siphon fuel tank.

Just asking as I have been informed that the new one is ready for collection tomorrow and I have just filled the old one...

If I can avoid it, I ain't giving away a full tank in exchange for the egg cup fill that the dealer does.

I don't think you can siphon any modern car. The only way to do it normally is to run the fuel pump and take a hose off the fuel filter and drain it into a jerry can.

If you make a short piece of wire with 2 spade crimps on you can short the lift pump relay base out pretty easily, or i'm sure you can maybe run it via VCDS

Simple solutions are the best, don't collect it tomorrow lol

That's about the long and short of it. You can buy transfer pumps fairly cheap, I just use a pump off a scrap mk3 golf wired to a pair of croc clips.

Have a word with the dealer, see if they will give you some of the fuel in the new car.

Why mess about draining fuel?

The dealer should be able to drain the tank for you I would have thought, there must be circumstances when they need to do this to repair or replace sensors etc?
