ESP Fault

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. So i am new at this forum and i have my Skoda Octavia 1.6tdi 2010 model. So the problem is that i have yestreday started my car but the car didnt start and shows that need to put oil inside so i did it. After that i tryed to start again but its dont start. In the panel shows ESP fault. So maybe someone have the same problem before? Thank you.

OK, due to lack of information I've got to ask basic questions:-

  1. Does the engine turn over?
  2. If it does, is the cranking speed normal or low?
  3. If the cranking speed is normal, does it sound like it's trying to start?

I don't believe the ESP fault is related, unless this model uses the ESP warning light to signal an immobiliser fault.

Yes the engine turn and the chain to. The problem is that i cant start. Its shows that need to put oil inside but the oil is already inside. ESP fault its shows me yestreday on panel.

Qus 2 and 3 still need answering. They will tell stuff about the battery condition, and whether the problem is fuel or ignition related if the cranking speed is normal.

2)The cranking speed when i start run the mother is low.

3)When i try to run the car, the motor sound like he would runing but its dont run.

And yestreday i tryed to run the car and know i have in panel glow plugs flashes,

Ah, if the cranking speed is low, then this can actually stop the engine firing.

Check the battery voltage (this first because it's easiest) which should be 12v ignition off. If it's much below this, try charging the battery, and start thinking about a replacement.

If the battery is good, check the battery, starter motor and solenoid terminals.

I tryed to put on compouter today, and its shows me EPS fault, diesel pump i think and one more witch i dont remember, but the problem is that my battery is low now.

Well, you need good charge before proceeding, because the engine will not fire up if the cranking speed achieved is below 250rpm.

After that, you need fuel to make a diesel run, so the fuel pump fault is the next most likely to be causing non starting.
