Bit short-sighted in some ways given the number of retirees who have bought the current Yeti.

As said elsewhere, they have squandered the opportunity to carry on with something different to other manufacturers particularly when other members of VAG have that sector covered especially SEAT.

I've never understood why people rave on about the rear seats in the Yeti. The Ford C Max has had exactly the same arrangement since 2003. My 07 had them and my 13 has them. They are still no where near as flexible as fold flat seats. I had a 2011 Vauxhall Meriva that took seconds to have a totally flat load area as big, if not bigger than the Yeti and C Max and that is in the class below.

Or are so protective of them! :D

This is a great forum, I've had 4 fabia's, 2 of them VRS's and a Yeti but if you criticise the Yeti in any way everybody goes mental.

The Yeti is an OK car, nothing else. I'm 57 and change my car once or twice a year so I've had a few. As a 4 wheel drive it is good value but in 2 wheel drive, which 99% of owners will only ever need, it is a good car but there are better out there. Even the Meriva and C Max overall, are as good as, or better,  in most areas. IMO. Better put that in :notme: . Here goes for the flak.

Yeah, brace yourself! :D

I think one of the reasons so many like the Yeti though is it's individuality, well with the current one anyway. And me being a VAG man for so many years it ticked a lot of boxes. Never had a Ford or Vauxhall in my life and I'm 62 now.

Out of interest why did you go for a C Max?

I bought the Yeti because it was a decent car but like you I liked the fact it didn't look like everything else out there. I still much prefer the looks of the pre facelift. The front end looks like every other car now but it is still individual enough that you can spot a Yeti from a mile off.

Each to their own choice, what one may see as a positive another will think of as a negative.

The rear seats arrangement are just one of the + points that led me choose the Yeti after 18 months of looking around and test driving other cars.
I have seen that some find the rear seats very awkward to remove or reinstall, I find it takes just seconds and gives the rear the versatility and practicality that suits ME.
I had a 2005 1.4 16v Fabia Elegance Estate for 10 years and was VERY happy with it (sold to a chap across the road so I see it often) and suspect that the Yeti will exceed that.

I've got a Yeti because it did all I wanted it to do, and why I have just bought another one,

and

BECAUSE I CAN!!

I've had a few Vauxhalls and some bad experiences with them so would never own another. They also depreciate very quickly (which I appreciate isn't such a big issue if buying used). I do however concede they have cracked the folding seat conundrum.

My Yeti is my second Skoda - the first was a 1971 110LS which I passed my test in back in 1978 - it cost me the princely sum of £30 and I sold it 6 months later for £35 - (so not sure if that really counts) but I've been so impressed with it I have a new one in order.

Once or twice a year!

Commercial reason or just BECAUSE YOU CAN! ?

Do you quickly get bored with them?.

I'm a bit naughty too, not THAT much though.

I'm the same with bikes. I get a different bike every year, used not new, that would be financial suicide. There's that much out there cars and bikes I can't make up my mind. I took early retirement from work and I'm trying to find a keeper both car and bike but can't.

I had the Yeti 18 months which is the longest I've had a car in decades. Couldn't get on with the drivers seat comfort and dsg lag pulling away from a standstill and the firm suspension, but everything else about the car was fine. Sit high up. Lovely light, airy cabin with loads of room and the 1.2 engine was a gem.

Since I sold the Yeti in 2015 I've had a Vauxhall Meriva, Lexus RX400h and now the Ford C Max. I really like the C Max but will I keep it? Who knows. The suspension is leagues ahead of the Yeti and mine had 16 inch wheels (oh no not that topic again  :sun:).

Thread tidied - just for info to the 'new' readers.

The 'current' readers will already have guessed why!

Please stay relevant to the topic.

So you will be deleting post #36 then as it's a "shouting in your face" reply?

I must admit that I didn't realise just how big the font was as I viewed it on my phone. However, and as you might already have guessed, that's wasn't really the root cause of the clean up. Maybe Graham would like to reconsider his 'sizing' options in the spirit of harmony though?

If there are any other queries then please follow the Rules in getting them addressed. HTH.

I'm semi-retired and have my keeper car (probably not the Yeti though as diesel) and one of my motorcycles is a definite keeper, Triumph Thunderbird Sport, and well maybe a couple more of them! :D
