Byte 18 for 2014 facelift Superb S with halogen headlights?

Featured Replies

I've had to replace my BCM. However, the unit is used & I don't know what car it came from. It has the same 87 part number but ends in AN instead of AL.

It's functioning correctly apart from the coding for byte 18.

Rather than try hundreds of code combinations, I thought I'd ask if anyone knew the correct coding.

The car is a 2014 facelift Superb S 1.4TSI estate with LED rear lights & halogen headlights with built in DRLs which use the same bulb as the main beam.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

What was the value of byte 18 from the BCM you removed?

If it was 00, then typically none of the standard values are correct for your car and you might need dealer tools or VCP to sort it out.

Oh right, well yes, it was the 00 mask. I have read that 84 works for the xenon & LED DRL equipped cars, so would have assumed a value would be available for the halogen cars.

Do you still have the original BCM as the best plan is to read the configuration from that and apply it to the new one :-)

I do, yes. As I said, it's behind the 00 mask so I'm not sure how I would go about finding out the values?

Dealer tools or VCP can access the original config. It's only VCDS that can't...

Not sure where you are in London but I'm happy to take a look if you're able to head towards Cambridge :-)
