Tailgate wiring boots - something to keep an eye on

This might be something for estate owners to keep an eye on.

 

I noticed the rubber wiring boots between body and tailgate rub on the paintwork:

 

On our car, it's present on both sides, but the LHS one appears worse:

This is only after 3000-odd miles...

 

Might be worth a strip of heli tape to protect the paint :)

Just checked mine, also around 3000 miles and it seems fine, although it is business grey and not white.

 

Thanks for posting, will watch out when cleaning the car.

Mine's Petrol blue so isn't easy to spot. I'll definitely be checking. Maybe some of that clear stone chip film will be a fix if it's an issue.
