Mondeo st220 vs fabia Vrs

Featured Replies

So I just got rid of my mondy st220 for the fabia Vrs. Obviously it hasn't got the top end, I'm really impressed about how this car pulls 20-90. The torque delivery is phenomenal for its size. I can honestly say, it doesn't feel any slower in that regard. Very impressed and looking forward to getting the tuning done. Think I'll be sticking with skoda a while! :D

I think your speedo must be over reading, surely you meant 20-77mph ;)

How was the change in comfort, was the mondeo a comfortable car as I imagine it to be?

I miss the arm rest. The seats were nice being leather recaros, but I'd say for comfort the Vrs is a touch nicer due to it being slightly softer. The seats were pretty hard. The main thing i think I'll miss out of the two was the heated front screen. I used to love pressing that button and wiping the ice away, whilst everyone else scraped at work! It was also nice being able to cruise in 6th at 30mph if you wanted to. Lol

IIRC the arm rest from an Octavia A4 Elegance or L&K can be fitted to a Fabia.

Yep, a few people have fitted different arm rests now. You can buy Fabia ones from eBay that fit but the most common one is the mk4 golf.

Ok, cheers guys. I'll have a look on the bay for a golf one. See if I can get one for a good deal.

Interesting to hear, a bloke I know has one in the blue, it's a nice looking car, he had problems with sticking turbo vanes though.

Cruising in 6th at 30mph! Rather your car than mine.

Regarding the arm rest:

Make sure you get the mounting bracket for it too, then get in touch with a guy on here. I will get his username in a min, he supplies adaptor brackets so that the arm rest can be securely bolted to the car, thus allowing you to properly lean on it without worrying it's about to crack the centre console.

Ok great! Wouldn't mind a new arm rest for it! Your friend had the ST derv did he? Mine was the 3.0 V6 petrol version in performance blue as well.

My mate recently brought a Audi A4 3.0 V6 convertible which he was chuffed as nuts with.......... Until last weekend when we went for a drive up Cheddar Gorge and back down, to cut a long story short he wasn't so chuffed when we pulled up and he said he couldn't get near me lmao.

Bless him good little cars they are and all the better with a few choice mods.

Haha...I can imagine. i think the sleeper side of the fabia is what I like best. :D

In regards to the heated windscreen. There is a company that sells one for the fabia if it's a big issue for you.

Link for screen plz?

Ricky Evans Motorsport does them, 225 plus VAT though.  I just paid them a deposit on one for my Caddy.  Due to be ready August provided he can get 5 deposits before the end of April, if that goes ahead I am going to add one to the order for the Furbie.

Ive got the heated screen on my Transit, it seems exactly like the one I had on my XR3i back many years ago lol bloody horrible when the sun shines at an angle you can see all the little lines zigzagging through the screen...makes me go boss eyed Dont like them!!
