Thought to post a few links to a useful YouTube review on microfibres and various types, construction etc.

Only sharing some material that was created by a chap i know on one of the Facebook forums.

 

I'm not recommending any products here - just illustrating how a pro detailer goes about assessing a MF cloth.

Of those recommended/reviewed - i will state i use the following:-

 

CarPro 350gsm orange - good for removing polish

CarPro 500gsm grey - good for removing/buffing waxes

 

Purple monster - 600gsm - new purchase which i thought was pretty good value - testing out now as its half the price of the above!

 

plus the Costco/Kirkland Yellows for most other general tasks.

CarPro get my vote. For any polishing / waxing or sealant removal.

Have a selection of short pile for other jobs. And a dodo waffle weave one for windows

No worries Karl - thought it may interest some of you, educate others, or simply generate some conversation on the topic.

 

Interesting that the WaxPack MF made a good score; as at the time of release i wasnt sure about the quality on those green ones.

 

The really interesting point was that some of the companies/suppliers didnt know the blend/origin/make-up of the product being sold.

 

I see Jon has done a few videos on other topics - so i'm working through his Youtube feed when i'm bored.

The Waxpack green MF is one of my favourites. As are the Boas.

I was surprised not too see the Auto Perfection Buffing Towels in the comparison if I'm honest.

Was an interesting watch to say the least!

Very true - although, when he has all the MF's laid out on the bench i'm sure the AP plush MF's are in the pile of contenders.

 

So maybe it finished way down, or its the same construction as another - but alternate dye colouring?

It looks exactly the same but I believe it was a Microfibre Madness product. There was no mention of AP unless I missed it whilst grabbing myself a beer haha!

I worked through some other videos on his YouTube feed last night - very intersting.

 

He has done a wash pad/mitt review - similar style to the microfibre evaluation, so worth a watch.

 

He came up with the same results we would expect....... Adam's Synthetic or Dooka Lambswool for the win!!!

He's also posted a Newbie guide to using a DA6 pro too which I found interesting as mine arrived today to replace the Meguiars G220v that decided to break down on only it's 3rd outing.

 

Edir: also ordered some of the Ragmaster MF cloths he recommended too to see what they are like as I need some new buffing cloths and SWMBO's new motor should be here next week.

There are some great little tuition videos on that chaps YouTube channel; well worth subscribing to it and going through the content.
