Free Satnav update for all Octavia iii ?

Featured Replies

Owning a very capable Octavia Scout, I was told, I'm sure, the Satnav updates were / are free of charge?

Does this mean that I download , or should I expect my dealer to update my system when the vehicle has its 1st service at the end of this month?

Secondly, how do I know which head unit I have? Having not seen the other one....the infotainment manual does not explain which is which.

Thanks,

T.M

It is usually owner self serve. A dealer is unlikely to do it for free as it takes some time to transfer the files to the SD card for Amundsen or to the HDD for Columbus.

Put your VIN in here - next updates are towards the end of May.

That's very welcome news to me!

Thanks both.

not such a simple thing for us down in oz, with my VIN it  comes up with subscription expired with a date prior to the car being loaded on the ship for transport.  on contacting Skoda Australia i got the reply

"I know the online updates for our market are in the pipeline, unsure as to whether they have officially been released as yet

I will find out and come back to you"

looks like they are taking their time in doing this as these vehicles have been available for sale in our country for some time now

I recall my dealer saying they were updates for life and I could either download them myself or ask them to do it for free next time it's in for a service, however, that free option might be depending on how nice your local dealer is. I notice Andyvee says the updates are due end of May but I've just put my VIN into that link I have updates already which seems weird as I only picked the car up 4 weeks ago, thought it would be up to date.
