  1. Need to manually tweak headlight range, dipped is too low
  2. Thanks for your replies all. Just to correct my loose term “wheel sensors”! By that I meant sensors that sense the wheels, not sensors on the wheels themselves!
  3. So dropped into my local Protyres to ask about swapping my front & back tyres over. All are Michelin Cc2s. Rears have about 7mm on them & fronts c 5.5mm … all on a 68 reg SEL Exec estate (tdi 190/dsg/4x4) Am well aware of current thinking to have best tread depth on the rear but was interested in getting better fwd grip for a trip to a very rural Welsh cottage reached via a farm track. Anyway, Protyres couldn’t do the swap immediately and I was advised that they had had issues doing this swap with the tpms system become upset and unfixable from the car, would need a dealer reset. Something to do with the wheel sensors? So leaving as is for now, but anyone have any experience of this issue. Seems a bit mysterious, maybe it’s to do with front & rear having two slightly different rolling circumferences, b ut wouldn’t that then also apply to putting new tyres on only the front or rear?
  4. You might be onto something with the soft suspension possibility. Found this myself with my 4x4 Superb SEL after the suspension bottomed dramatically coming down off an elongated speed ramp at very moderate speed. Estate also jittery over poor surfaces but floating serenely on good smooth motorway or dual carriage. Replaced shocks all round with Moni actives & handling transformed. When the old shocks came off the mechanic commented on how incredibly weak one of the rears was … hardly any resistance at all. The wheels will have been poinding up & down over poor surfaces with almost no damping/shock absorbing effect from the OEM shocks. But how old is your Scout? & what mileage? Compared with a 2015 Octavia Scout I had a few years ago I found my2018 Superb so very disappointing regarding suspension … but no longer.
  5. So which type of shock absorbers do you have, standard, or software adjustable (DCC)?
  6. Gabrielem … why do you say the Koni SAs were not a good choice?
  7. I assume you’ve also checked the wheel load capacity. Easily done if you know what the Audi wheels were first fitted to.
  8. Australia benefits from a Scout version of the Superb estate. No idea if the rear springs would be a straight replacement fit, available to order over here & fit for purpose?
  9. Following my recent post re replacing my recently defective car horn, from a quick look under the bonnet I cannot fathom where the horn is located. Would much appreciate enlightenment on the location!
  10. Suddenly, theyhorn on my Superb mk3 estate had been reduced to a weak peep-peep! Any issues replacing with an OEM or aftermarket one?
  11. Lol ... thanks for all the input ... still at "all over the shop"! Anyway, being replaced Friday, along with re-gassing the aircon ... another great discussion topic!
  12. Many thanks for posting the Skoda retrofit towbar guidance. Would appreciate it greatly if you could provide a link to that so that I can if necessary quote it back to my dealer? All I want is to be able to tow a small trailer very occasionally & have no plans for mountain of or Saharan like towing of any sort! But should there come overheating related issues of any kind I don’t want having used a non-OEM towbar providing Skoda with an opportunity to deny cover! Next task … finding a reputable towbar & specialist fitter combination in Devon or Somerset!
  13. Yes, the extra cost with OEM fitting is comparatively marginal for the simple reason is it’s the marginal extra cost of the towbar prep equipment compared to the cost of the standard fitting equipment. Getting a full OEM equivalent retrofit is far more expensive because of the full cost of the replacement parts involved.
