Uprated radiator?

Featured Replies

Hi all! I've been unfortunate enough to have had a stone hit the radiator on my vRS and it's left it with a small leak. I remember a while ago about someone mentioning uprated (or larger) radiators? I've had a search but can't find anything definitive.

Failing any info on the above, does anyone have a link to a good quality replacement? I've seen them vary massively in price on Ebay from around £35 to £160+...

I would get a genuine one or a decent pattern part from a reputable manufacturer or supplier. Ebay is too much of a minefield for my liking regarding cheap substandard components and fakes.

if you can find sy's modded fabia II thread, he has details in there about a "proper" upgraded radiator he fitted, massive improvement apparently!

vRsy had a pace radiator on his vRS.

It must have been the Pace radiator I was thinking of but I'm not paying £900 for a radiator  :D

I used to work for a Motor Factors when I left school but I can't for the life of me remember what makes of radiators they supplied  :S

Serck are quite popular with motor factors.

?

Have you a bigger Intercooler fitted now, and is the car remapped or are you remapping it?

No bigger intercooler fitted yet but I'm going to do that at the same time as fitting the radiator and yes it's mapped.

Does anyone know off hand how much coolant the vRS takes? Replacement radiator has arrived today, just need to get some coolant and I'll be cracking on with changing it over tomorrow.

vRS is 6.6l from empty.
