pierburg 2e3 carburetor issue

Featured Replies

so recently i've been having an issue with this carb, the engine will start when stone cold by applying a bit of throttle and holding it for like 30 seconds for it to then idle smoothly. then the problem comes here, it will be fine until the coolant temp starts rising to above 75 degrees. after that the engine will sart idling higher and higher until it will be like 1500 revs. i checked the choke pull off by sucking in a hose in the "A" marking. and the choke flap is barely moving, it think its defective, but this wouldnt affect the engine when hot right ?

now whats happening is, when its cold it is on the higher "cams" then when waring up it goes down and down until when fully warm, the "cam" thing goes above the fast idle screw and it opens the throttle more than usual. is the fast idle cam worn out or misadjusted maybe?

i want to add that i aligned the bimetallic spring with alignment mark on the housing also. i also adjusted the idle speed to be at 900 and the mixture screw also.

thanks
