Stainless Exhaust ?

Featured Replies

Hello,

Started having exhaust problems with my 2008 Scout 2.0L TDI.  Couple of weeks ago, centre pipe broke, before centre box and fell on the floor (still connected at front). Quick fix was a sleeve joining centre box to pipe.

Rest of system described as rusty, but serviceable, good for another couple of years. Worry was, to replace just centre pipe (dealer part) was £120 ! quick fix only cost £52 ! Seems there are no "aftermarket" parts available for the Scout.

If rest of system is that expensive ? is it worth pricing up "made to measure" stainless ?

Previous car was a Subaru Forester - when most of rear exhaust needed replacement, stainless proved much cheaper than dealer parts. This was fitted by a (cannot remember the name) company in Sheffield.

Anyone had experience of replacement stainless systems ? Preferably, would need to be in South Yorkshire area.

Cheers,

Lloyd
