Hi all

Is it possible to change a setting or do something, so that when you open the car with the button on the remote, the day time running lights turn on? Rather than having to put the key in ignition etc.

Leave the light switch in auto setting (VRS has this as standard still?) and they will switch on when it is dark enough. This also turns on the xenon bulbs too, but these can be coded to be off on key press via VCDS. I have swapped xenons with fogs for another member.

I have the coming home function on so they turn on in the dark with xenons as lights set to auto. What Im wondering is, say in the day time with lights set to auto, can a setting be changed so that when you open the car, running lights activate but xenons don't? But then in darkness obviously xenons come on...

Doubtful. My understanding is that the system they use does not have the functionality to change this type of thing.

It not, you can only adjust what comes on as CH/LH and basically set what ever you like.

On MY16> you can also adjust the light level at which the CH/LH activate, but there is unfortunately an upper limit. It doesn't allow you much movement.
