Strange Columbus problem

Recommended Posts

I have a very weird problem with my Columbus navigation system.

It won't play audio from Aux, HDD or SD, nor will it find any radio stations. I know the audio side of things is fine because the reverse bleep comes on (along with optical parking), and also via VCDS I can make sound come out of each speaker. The navigation works fine, and I can access all the menus fine.

Any ideas what the issue might be? I've tried resetting by holding the top four buttons. It's difficult doing long journeys with no audio!

Some more details needed really.

Is it the original Columbus or a retrofit, if retrofitted did you do it yourself, if original has it always done it or just started etc.

Any info?

It's an original Columbus as mine is the Elegance spec.

It has just started this problem within the last week, I've had the car over a year now. Upto now the whole unit has been working well.

Sounds like a firmware issue or somethings corrupted a file somewhere. If you can find out what firmware it's got on it and try reloading it, that might fix it. The reversing bleep is seperate to the Columbus audio system btw.
