fabia rear beam

Featured Replies

Silly question and I kinda think i know the answer but here goes. Will the rear beam from a MK1 VRS fit the mk2 Fabia? only reason I ask is I've been offered one for silly money and didn't want to drive to collect it if it doesn't fit.

Thanks in advance. no silly comments please, I get them from the wife whenever I talk about the car.

Nope it will not fit properly.

Didn't think so, have an offer on a MK 2 rear beam now so seems the problem is now solved!

The pre fl and FL mk2's might be different might they? I thought there was a change in the rear suspension.

That's another fly in the ointment Can't remember which one mine is?

It might be the same. I just seem to remember some rear suspension changes when they facelifted it, but i might be wrong.

What year is your car?

Edit: can i see black headlights in your display pic?

As far as I know no changes were made to the suspension between facelift and pre-facelift.

I thought it partially went over from PQ24 to PQ25 at the facelift.

Which i thought consisted of a few changes at the rear end

Well if Skoda weren't such tight arse's and fitted the Monte Carlo with rear discs I wouldn't have this issue :p

Ahaa. Are you doing a conversion then?

It's part of the ongoing masterplan, along with redoing the bonnet. Bidding for the 4 door cards and dash at the mo, if I'm lucky these will get sent off to my trimmer, along with the Monte interior. Then off to rob the bank :p

Sounds brill!

I wanted leather myself and go very tempted.. if it was my hobby id of done it. But i struggled to justify it tbh.

I've got a feeling Slotty went to do same process on his but found it to have different width stub axles

I got a prefacelift and whatever rear suspension options are out there for the vRS (which is a facelift) fit mine too with no issues so...

So to cut to the chase. (As i understand it.)

The OP has a Monte Carlo with rear drum brakes (that is a after 2010 Face Lift Mk2 Fabia)

& wants to fit rear disc brakes, so is looking to fit a rear beam that had Disc Brakes on.

So from a Greenline ll or Mk2 Fabia vRS or the likes.

But since the rear discs on them are more show than Go,  or actually Stop.

Maybe the set up 32KODATA fitted is a better idea.

Thanks for the info guys, might be academic as I may be getting rid of the car.

It's not a done deal yet

It's not a done deal yet

But you put so much effort into it and still haven't spend enough time enjoying the car

The reason for letting it go is, because if I keep it for any longer I will be spending way more than the car was ever worth, as I have 4 sets of alloys, looking to do the rear beam, airbags, leather re-trim, colour coded hoses, the list is becoming endless. So it would be cheaper and easier to get a different car and spend the money on property!

You have already spent way more than the car is or was worth, and you are not going to get any extra back now are you?

What are you going to do try to sell with the wrap on, then remove it is needs must to get it sold?

The idea was to sell with the wrap on but everything else back to standard
