Code P1296

Featured Replies

So, my new MK1 VRS has thrown up the P1296 code.

Googled it and says most likely will be temp sensor.

I put it on my scanner and used the freeze frame section to check against an online post in briskoda to rule out out probable causes and to diagnose what it will most likely will be.

It points to the temp sensor.

I can fit it myself as done one on my last VRS, but can't remember where I bought it from.

Anyone on here know anywhere that sells the original one? Obviously main dealer, but anywhere online?

(Probably could've just said it quicker by saying: Where can I buy a genuine temp sensor online..... )

:-)

TIA

No worries. Ebay is ok these days for gen stuff if you find trusted sellers. I just got a gen aux drive belt for the Ibiza (£12, dealers wanted 19 plus vat) and a gen oil filter for £8. Just include genuine vw/skoda/seat in your searches and read the listing and feedback carefully.

Superskoda is good but basically dealer prices once postage is paid.
