VRS Hatch Boot Rust

Featured Replies

Hi all.

Going to give my dealer a ring about this tomorrow but thought in the mean time is see if this was a common issue. On my hatch, inside the boot lid where the 2 nuts holding the spoiler meet the body work, rust has started to form. Looks like when the spoiler had been attached the paint has broken and moisture has obviously gotten in. Just me or has anyone else got this? Maybe nobody has noticed and would like to check?

Can you post a picture?

Haha, maybe this time.

How old is the car?

Was 2 years in March.

No age at all. Though it looks "just" surface rust and should clean up, it indicates poor treatment of the metal when it was drilled in the factory.

I'm going to check mine.

Has your spoiler ever been replaced.

Has your spoiler ever been replaced.

Nope. Didn't get a chance to call the dealer either today. Might pop us tomorrow at lunch time.

Just checked my spoiler and mine is the same although I suspect this has been caused by the constant removal and replacement of my spoiler over paint bubbles. Will take it up with the dealership in due course to get it fixed.
