Whiteline RARB

Featured Replies

All,

I had a Whiteline RARB fitted a few months ago and everything was tickety-boo. However in the last few weeks I'm getting lots of creaking sounds, especially on slow cornering. Several threads on here highlight this problem and relate it to the Whiteline bushes.

My question is whether anyone knows if Whiteline now ship the RARB with the new, quiet bushes (sensible) or have I got the original ones with inbuilt squeaker (pretty daft).

Is there a way to tell the difference between the types?

I'm having a MOT tomorrow, so if it's not the RARB causing the noise, I could be in for a bit of a bill.

I have exactly the same symptoms as you describe, I bought mine second hand with the original Whiteline supplied bushes and the creaking at low speeds is very noticeable

Mine was MoT'd at the weekend and it certainly didn't cause it any concern with my assessor. I am going to look into getting some Urathene bushes on there soon to see if that helps

I am very interested in what responses you get :)

i had the same, contacted whiteline and they sent out different bushes - that was nearly a year ago.

They are now starting to creak - may need to lube them?

Had this on my Astra VXR.  Just lube them with appropriate grease.

Mine had the nylon bushes but still creaked when fitted. Got them greased. Been OK for about 1 + 1/2 years.

Got the car back yesterday evening from the MOT and service and the squeaking seems to have stopped. Perhaps the service centre lubricated the bushes whilst doing t he service, if so, good on em!

Cheers for posting this mate. I'm considering getting a RARB (Whiteline) so will ensure it's fitted correctly and get the bushes greased.

I had the same problem. Very hard bushes I would not use it any more

I've got a white line arb to fit and have been doing some reading as a result of this thread. I'm hearing red rubber grease and Teflon grease (for bikes) being suggested. Thoughts?

Teflon grease would be better

That would do it.

Thought it better post here than make a fresh thread for the same topic.

The supposedly grease free bushes I received creak. Should I grease them?

Is Teflon grease a better option than silicone?

I got the grease free bushes and they creaked. Got them greased and they were fine although after about 18 months they are creaking again. I will grease them myself this time.

i contacted whiteline and they sent some new bushes, no squeaks since must be a year now

I contacted whiteline on Sunday but no reply yet.

try calling them

Very helpful on the phone. Sending some replacements out; they're unsure if they'll be grease-free or not, but will include grease if required.

I asked what grease should be used for future reference and the guy on the phone suggested CV boot grease.
