Skoda Fabia Engine Management light is on!

Featured Replies

Our Skoda Fabia is about ten years old with about 90,000 miles and the engine management sign has come on.  Can anyone offer a suggestion as to what that means and what sort of cost its likely to mean?

The EML is a general warning light, without scanning the car it’s impossible to say where the problem lies.

Which engine does the car have, and which warning light exactly is it that's come on, the one with a picture of an engine outline, picture of coils (glow plug warning light) or the letters EPC?

If it's either of the last two and the engine seems to be working OK, I'd put a small bet on a brake light switch failure - cheap easy fix.

Its shows an 1198cc engine on the registration document.  The warning light that comes on is the one showing an engine outline but the car seems to be running just the same as before it showed.

Whereabouts are you? I'd scan it for you for nothing if you can get it to me in Oxfordshire.
