Will 03 octavia engine fit in 09 octavia

I have the chance to buy an 03 engine cheeeeep but I'm not sure if it will go in my 09 octavia as my 09 is very poorly and needs an engine

Dimensionally it should fit with minor engine mounting work., I imagine the ancillary items ECU etc will have to match the fittings and wiring loom etc. Is it not easier to find the same MKII engine refurbished or few miles on?

It won't fit straight in as Octavia MK3 is based on the new MQB platform.

Probably better off finding an accident damaged Mkll and using it as a donor.
