Interesting new Diesel emissions report (superb passes, almost everyone else does not)

When I saw on the news what VW had agreed for the USA I wondered how "watered" down that will be when it comes to Europe.

I drive an effected Passat. I was angry when the story first broke. My local VW dealer offered a £2k 'cheque' towards a new VW.

It's what triggered the whole process to drop VW. After much searching I ended up ordering a new Superb.

Have admit, I had planned to drop all VAG cars but ended up back with them. Have some reservations with that choice. However, the search did highlight how much VW mark up over Skoda for identical things. It just felt like they were taking the mickey all over again.

My car like lots of others is one of those. We are now into the second three months of the year despite being told that my car would be recalled in the first three months of this year for a "fix". Like others I want to know what that fix will actually be or more importantly what effect/impact it may or may not have considering the many various version that have been touted in the media from various sources as I am happy with what I have.

My car is now out of warranty, so Skoda won't be touching it.

Or rather the only MK3 Superb they tested passed ... a 150 manual

I'll bet the 190 doesn't though, even with all the extra emissions controls.

Penalties outside the US will always be weaker and each EU country sets its own subject to local legislation covering sales. Because it won't be an EU wide deal don't expect much. The U.K. is generally poor at this sort of thing regardless of what it is. Just look at the current tumble dryer fiasco.
