Shuffle by album

Featured Replies

First of all, many thanks to everyone who has posted tips on SD cards and ripping music; I now have all my music organised by artist and album on a 64Gb card and sounding good in the car.

I can shuffle all the tracks on the card thanks to the trick of putting one track in the root folder, but is it possible to shuffle by album i.e. select a random album, play all its tracks then select another at random etc?

Cheers,

Simon

Success, sort of!  I discovered that the media player recognises playlists so I've manually created a randomly ordered playlist of all my albums.  With 76 albums to work through, I doubt I'll ever get bored of the fixed sequence

If you select Media, Source, Display Database, Album, there is a randomise button at the very top of the album listing.

There is, but it mixes any track from any album; not what I want, which is for it to play whole albums chosen at random.  It does mean that there's no need to place a track in the root folder to fool it in to mixing all tracks though
