Cup holder Power Adaptor

Featured Replies

I need a new power adaptor for the car.

I need one that will seat neatly in the cup holder by the hand brake and it needs to have at least 2 USB ports (preferably at 2A) and 2 lighter type sockets. To provide power to my mobile, charge my tablet and power my sat nav (Yes, I know I have a Sat Nav in my car, I just use a normal one for Speed Camera Alerts!)

I have a Ring Automotive RMS10 at the moment but it's a bit "long in the tooth" now and after a good few years of service, it's starting to pack up,

Now I've found this one:

I've seen this one and wondered has anyone else got one in their Octy:

Tried this one and it doesn't fit in the cup holder, so went back:

Your help would be invaluable.

Just as an aside, TomTom have a free phone app with speed camera alerts where the camera positions are dynamically updated by the users so they are very accurate. This would avoid you having to use a satnav just for speed cameras and would save a socket and a bit of clutter.

Why do you need lighter sockets?

Just get a multi USB socket. All your devices will be fine with 2.1a sockets.

Plenty around with 4 USB sockets.

My Garmin uses a lighter socket, phone and tablet uses USB at 2A.

Garmin will also run on a 5v supply. If it doesn't have a micro USB adapter get a USB to jackplug adapter ;)

It'll needs the big lead for both power and traffic, so the big lead stays I'm afraid.

I know that the built in system has traffic but I'm far from being impressed by it,in fact I find it rather poor.
