New wheels. . . . tpms swap?

Featured Replies

Hi all, I've got some now wheels for Octavia and getting them wrapped with some new rubber this weekend. Just a thought, I currently have tyre pressure monitoring system so my current standard wheels have the sensors. They don't look to be the bolt in valve type. Will they be exchangeable to my new wheels? If not, what can I do to keep the light off. Thanks

Assuming your talking about the stock TPMS system on a MK2 Octavia, then it's done by comparing the rotation speed of the four wheels and doesn't have any pressure sensors.

Just just need to reset the TPMS system after fitting the new wheels/tyres :)

The wheels on your car presently have nothing on them do they?

The TPMS is fitted to the car using the systems on the car and monitoring the wheels turning,

and you setting the tyre pressures and then the tyre circumference in known.

You reset as you change, tyres or tyres pressures.
