Rear diffuser

Featured Replies

Fitted a rear diffuser to my mk1 vrs last weekend. I used tiger seal and its held fine on the drivers side right along to the exhaust cut out. The problem is it keeps 'pingin' off the passenger side n hanging off. Sick of trying to seal it back on. Has anyone got any advice? ****ed off with it now.

Usual steps of clean and dry, find a way to pin it down and Tiger Seal takes at least 8 hours to fully cure. I tend to give things 12 hours or overnight to be sure.

Find some logs, axle stands or props and jack the car up and lower onto them enough to hold on the diffuser firm at all the unsticky points.

Yeah i had it chocked up with loads of wood. Left for 24 hours. Piissed off to the max with it now lol

I bet, it's unusual for Tiger seal not to grab fully if things are clamped or pinned down. Did you have polish on the bumper? What did you use to get it off? Sounds like some kind of residue of something (polish or dirt) stopped it bonding fully.

You could try warming it while it's held in position too...
