My 2010 Yeti has an annoying rattle in the pillar near the drivers right ear.  I know the franchise dealer changed something to do with the drivers seat belt to get the MOT when I bought the car in 2014 but did not get the full details at the time.  The Franchise is in Scotland and I live in Devon so no chance of further enquiring.

I noticed the interior trim at the top of the pillar was not sitting quite right and when I lifted the edge slightly saw that the bent metal bit that pushes into the body hole and holds the trim was bent right over at 90 degrees so it was not going in the hole, just sitting on the surface......this gives no confidence in the bodger that refitted it and did the job.

Am I right in thinking I can just pry the trim off as it is only held in place by these type clips?

What is most likely to be causing the rattle?.......it sounds like something hard.....seat belt fitting loose? wiring loom connector not in a holding clip?    Anybody got any photos with trim off and showing what is in there?

I had a similar issue on my Yeti, although it only happened on certain road surfaces. To cut a long boring story short, it was the parking ticket holder rattling against the screen. I fixed it by inserting a piece of clingfilm between the holder and the screen.

It might be worth checking it out.
