Roof Aerial Removal

Featured Replies

Does anyone have a guide on removing the roof aerial before I end up butchering it?

I'm planning to wrap my roof over the weekend so obviously need the aerial out of the way.

I've done it once as the rubber grommet at the base of the antenna was breaking off. I don't think I will do it ever again.

You need to remove all boot panels starting from the loading bay right in front of you and then the left and right side.

Then you need to remove both rear and frotn roof door handles so the roof lining doesn't crease as you pull it down accessing the base of the antenna.

There are two plastic screws at the back holding the roof lining to the ceiling be very carefull not to brake them. Worst case scenario you can get them from your local dealer, they are very cheap.

There must be some way to wrap the vinyl around the base of the antenna and avoid the hustle.

Wow OK a lot more involved than I expected. I can definitely do it without removing the aerial it just would have been a lot easier if I didn't have to.

Thanks for your advice :)

They have a anti theft fitting. Hold the aerial base with one hand and then give the aerial a short sharp tug. It will come out. Support the aerial base and roof to ensure you don't deform.
