2015/16 F-150

Featured Replies

Dumped the Mustang Ecoboost yesterday for a F-150 Supercrew XLT 4X4.

Its big. I mean BIG! - the 4x4 has about 4 extra inches of ride height so even a short bloke like me can see straight over the top of Range Rovers and Escalades in traffic.

Its wide too- although no more difficult to manage on main roads than the Mustangs were.

Amusingly this is the economical Ecoboost version - 21mpg today (Imperial) vs the 30-32 the Mustangs did - athough it's more like 14 around town!

I do like it though - it's a loaded $50k truck for the same rental cost as the $30k hairdresser Mustang I had last week.

Surprise - its quite quick - the All alloy redesign for 2015 shed 750lbs of weight, so you can either drive it faster or more economical or put more load in it. This one has the towing upgrades and will pull over 5 tons too!

If only

1 UK fuel was cheaper

2 UK roads were wider.

I'd love it in yellow with Tonka graphics.

The pics don't really convey the vast size of the thing. The legroom in the back is like a limo, those small looking chrome wheels are actually 18's with high profile tyres too.

365bhp is enough to get it moving along too.

I'm pleased it has reversing sensors and cameras, but even so it barely fits in US parking spots.

Lucky it doesnt have the optional 6.5ft pickup bed, or the 8ft one(which comes with the shorter Suoercab)

Think a mitsubishi/toyota/nissan quadcab with every dimension increased by 50% or more.

36 MPG!! Imperial at 60-65mph. over a 40 mile trip.

Slight tailwind admittedly, but Wow!

Not bad for something that weighs 3 tons empty and has the frontal cross-section of a supermarket!

Why does it have a Sport mode on the gearbox?

It just burns more fuel and rubber :)

Must try it in 4 wheel drive with sport mode - that may be the quickest way to go for the traffic light GP.

...Oh yes it is :)

Dodge Challenger driver in the next lane was not impressed at all at being hosed twice by a vehicle the size of an apartment - Lol

I'd love the Raptor model looks awesome [emoji4]

The Raptor model didn't survive the change to all alloy bodies in mid 2014.

However there are still a very few left in stock across the country. (around the $60k mark upwards I think)

Still loving the truck 4 weeks in.

The full length glass sunroof is a questionable option to have here in a desert state I must say - but otherwise it's all good.

This is the best selling vehicle in the US ( for the last 28 years or more! ) and I can see why.

The second best seller is the Chevy truck and in third place the RAM.

Based on a recent month (Apr 2016) the F150 outsells the best-selling car here (Honda Civic) 71000 to 35000.

Hurrah for cheap fuel.

Cheap fuel and space to park :)

...not always enough space.  I generally make a right mess of parking at the local shops / takeaways - it really is too big for city use.

The Raptor is coming back for the 2017 model year...might test drive one if it's in the showrooms in the next 2 months.

US Raptor fans are not impressed with the Twin turbo V6 Ford are going to fit instead of the old 6.2 V8, even though it will have 450-500 bhp for $50 to $60k and batter the old model.

Still if thats too slow many dealers over here have Rousch (600bhp) or Shelby (700bhp) versions of the F-150 in stock From $80 to $100k.

That's what I want!
