Replacing front fog

Featured Replies

I have a busted new style (round) front fog light on my 2005 Elegance. What is the going price for a replacement? I replaced an old style fog (sort of triangular) on my previous Fabia in September 2004 for about

I'm just wondering if the new style fabia fog lights are a bit weak, many peoples seem to be cracked. If they ARE weak it's probably best not bothering to replace them if it's going to become a regular thing.

I have had both and they have both broken. On both occasions, I was aware of a loud crack. I think some road debris hit the old one, but the new one has a neat round hole in - about 8mm - with cracks radiating from it. Looks like I have been shot at.

The advantage with the round ones is twofold: a) they are smaller and recessed and thus less likely to get hit, B) because they are smaller, if they do get hit, they are less likely to crack. Also, because they are round, they should be cheaper to make (not that we will see the benefit in the spares price).

I must admit to preferring the old style, though. They blended in better. The new ones look like an afterthought.

Hi,

I have a 06 fabia with a broken front fog light, i'm guessing that these things are sealed units and you don't just replace glass?

Are they easy to fit? How do you get at them? Would this car fail it's imminent MOT for this?

Any advice greatly appreciated,

Many thanks
