It's probably been asked before & I apologise if so.

Does the Fabia Mk2 1.2TSI have a cambelt - if yes I suppose I'm a numbnuts for not checking but I've just booked the wife's 5 year old in for a service & been quoted £399 for a cambelt & water pump change.

Not looking forward to telling SWMBO about this later.

It's a chain.

If it's a Skoda dealer who is doing the service, surely they should know the TSI engine has a chain and not a cam belt.  Doesn't give you much confidence in their ability does it?

Lightcliffe Skoda in Warrington - TBF sounded like a young girl on the desk & I've never had problems with them before

Definately chain, check again if they have done mistake.

mk2 1.2tsi is a chain

mk3 1.2tsi is a belt
