Potential mk2 owner questions

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm currently in the process of searching for a new car, one of my wishes on my list is steering wheel controls.

At the moment the Fabia's i've seen have fit my requirements bar this one.

I've searched the forum, but didn't find a definite answer.

Can steering wheel controls be retrofitted?

If so will it be, new wheel, new wire from airbag connector, or could there be more involved?

Cheers.

Martyn.

I believe you need the bluetooth unit for the controls to work... phone, streaming music, voice control etc...

I had a mfsw on my Fabia and no Bluetooth as standard. Everything worked on it. When I put in a new head unit with Bluetooth it would let me answers calls too. I'm sure it can be retrofitted but unsure if additional wiring is needed.

Cheers for the replies, if this helps, i'm looking at an 08 plate with the 4 spoke steering wheel.

Can that confirm anything else?

Could you say which Trim Model / Engine type of a 08 Fabia.

After a bit of reading/understanding of better cars then my current one.

I think it's come down to;

Highland Steering module Module - CC,MFSW

Steering Wheel with MFSW Controls (4 Spoke to maintain current airbag)

VAG-Com

Potentially

Airbag wiring loom

I'll probably revisit this once i actually own the car so can confirm the part numbers etc.

If anyone can confirm this in the meantime, i have found out it has the maxi dot cluster if that can clear anything up.

Cheers all.
