Which is the best and the easiest way to remove license plate mounts? :wonder:

It looks to me as though the number plates are fixed on using tape, the holes in your picture are the pre-drilled threads from the factory which your dealer has not used.

 

Pull off the number plates and take another picture but I'm pretty sure the factory mountings are permanent.

 

This is from my old MkII but you can see the factory drilled holes and plastic threads that are to be used when using screws (ignore the others, a long story)...

 

 

However most dealers use tape these days...

How can I remove those plastic inserts (pictures added)?

You'll need to access them from behind by removing the plastic trim inside the boot lid.

 

The only other option will be insert a screw half way and using a pair of pliers to pull on the screw and a small flat screwdriver to try to prize out the lugs that will be holding the plastic inserts in place, the risk here of course is that you slip and scratch the paint. Try surrounding the area with duct tape to protect the paint.
