Octavia vRS Mk2 - Can you disable high beam monitoring?

Featured Replies

Hi all

As per the title really, I've fitted LED bulbs to the high beam in the Octavia, light output and pattern is excellent, but the car doesn't like them and throws an error on ignition on, before they've even been used

I have some load resistors that I can fit and see if that sorts it, but obviously it would be better to disable the startup check instead of piping extra current around just to fool it

I have a new computer at the moment so don't have access to VCDS right now, wondering if anyone has successfully disabled the monitoring system?

Many Thanks

I was running HID's in my mk2 main beam and had the same problems, only cure was to fit load resistors.

I don't believe there was a way to code the fault out.

Thanks for the reply xpower - I just saw this

Funny you should mention HIDs as I actually replaced a 55w set of them with these LED bulbs and they worked just fine without any modification...

I did try fitting load resistors in parallel to the LED bulbs but the warnings remained, I'm beginning to think I might just have to live with it...
