Physically yes, technically no, it very much depends on which module you have fitted.

 

If it is anything like the twindoor then pre-2011 you'll need a new CCM...

So may need resistors to fool them then? Not as easy then. Was hoping the estate might be easier!

Looks like this BCM module might allow you to use them resistor free as well:

My 2011 Combi has a BCM part number of: 1K0 937 087 K

 

This is a 1K0 937 087 H (so older?) and supports LED tail lights (apparently).

Looking at the scan from my car, the BCM is 1K0 937 087 AB (car was built Dec 2011) which seems to have been fitted to cars with LED tail-lights from the factory. Does anyone know if the coding process for enabling LED tail-lights can be done in VCDS now?

Unlikely as it's all part of the byte 18 magic.

 

You'll need VAS-PC, ODIS-e or VCP to sort it properly as the correct lighting parameters cannot be set using just the lcode.
