Canton 3 months on

Featured Replies

Just thought I'd like to say how those disappointed by the quality of noise made by the Canton upgraded stereo need a little patience.

I was initially underwhelmed, but I'm sure the sound has improved quite a lot.

Had a stunning performance of Stravinsky's Rite of Spring the other day - a Radio 3 (DAB) broadcast from RFH. The "banging" (Timps, etc) were incredible . But it's also a very musical performance (unlike some overblown systems such as Bose).

Film score music is a good one to show the subwoofer at work - I'm sure they exaggerate the bass on those recordings.

Very happy indeed that I splashed out the extra!

I have found it to be a very good system. Something that often gets overlooked is that your soundstage is a car, not a proper audio lab. There is only so much that can be done in a car. Lab/Studio monitors cost thousands, each.

Once in motion you have all sorts of noises that detract from listening pleasure, and how good are the listeners ears in terms of frequency response?

For me it produces excellent sound - very clear highlights with lots of depth without being boomy or harsh, but I am using FLAC files. It will not sound so good with MP3's and the like.

Cant wait to get mine and fire up my Gary Glitter cd!!!!!!!
