Battery relocation

Featured Replies

I'm running a bit short on cash so I want to get all the smaller fiddly things done. The car is stripped, the back completely gutted, everyday 'comfort' doesn't bother me. It's how I want it. But with little weight in the back I'm consious that the car is now more front heavy and moving the battery to the back will help. I've got a rough idea but the thing that is bothering me most is the fuse box/tray thing on top of the battery, what have other people done with there's? Or is it a case of zip tie it somewhere (although not preferable).

Thanks

Ford Galaxy/VW Sharan fuse box for the engine is what I have in mine. Far easier and very OE looking.

Few people have mounted it lower down where the battery was. Making a plate up would be quite tidy. Or relocate the fuse box with the battery.

This is the part number I got, Ford Galaxy which was used on the VW as well. 1112108

If you want something simple, but efficient, go with this stuff !

Thank you, I'll definitely look into that, where about did you mount it? I was thinking just behind the front N/S headlight there's a bit of free space

Does it need to be covered from moisture etc? Or is it alright open? If it's mounted on a plate under the bonnet that is

Just above the gearbox. I'll post some pictures on my build sometime soon.

To bolt on or weld? Awesome, I'll check them out.
