First service

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

When i bought my 2015 Citigo i read the manual about the service intervals. To me it reads that the first service is at 2 years or x amount of miles which to be honest i thought was a long time to wait for the first service. However, the "INSP" indicator has just started coming on when i start the car. I haven't reached the stated mileage for the service, have i read the manual wrong or is there something else going on?

Thanks

Chris

All Citigos, Up!s and Miis are on fixed service intervals.

make sure you ring a few dealers for prices and haggle, as  you can see from the wide range of prices dealers take the p and try and extract as much money as possible from mugs (sorry customers)

This was the part of the manual which threw me. To me it reads that the first service is 2 years or 30,000km unless you are in Russia, in which case it is one year or 15,000km

Owner's manual explains how to chech if you have fixed or variable service intervals. There is a code sticker underneath boot floor mat which tells it.

As already stated the Citigo only runs fixed servicing.

In every country around the world?

Yeah I found that sticker which does indeed confirm is fixed interval servicing. But like I say, the manual seems to suggest for the fixed service intervals the first service is at 2 years.

Can't remember exact terms right now, but oil needs to be changed after one year. After 2 years it needs a bit more. Pollen filter, drum brake cleaning, etc.

Even if you do a really low annual mileage, the Citigo needs a service at 1, 2, 3 years to maintain the manufacturer warranty....and at 4 years, too, if the car has the factory extended warranty. Doesn't have to be done by a Skoda dealership....but does have to be done to their schedule using approved parts.

Yes, the Citigo isn't built with the parts required for long life servicing.

What kind of parts we are talking about?

I have thought myself that it's better for a city car if oil is changed more frequently. Short journeys, and more idling etc.

Oil conditioning sensor

Brake pad sensor

Dash cluster software

Bonnet switch (don't think it has one)

I see.

Now I wonder why they even mention flexible intervals in owner's manual, if there's no such possibility.

The whole section is just copied from other manuals.
