Been quoted the same part of G 052 171 A2 for transmission fluid for my petrol 1.8 from both stealers and TPS, but TPS are cheaper at around £18 a litre bottle for genuine VAG stuff. Anyone else know of elsewhere you can get the same for less? Has to be genuine though, not bothering with aftermarket nonsense.

not sure if euro car parts or gsf do gearbox oil.

eBay can be ok for things like this especially if from a trustworthy vendor like a dealership. 2 bottles for £23 here. Conduct your own due diligence, you don't want a counterfeit product.

Only thing I'm wary about is whether it's strictly OEM.   I know FEBI make certain parts for VAG but is it them who makes the official oil, does anyone know??

That will teach me a lesson for searching on the phone and posting replies. I put in the oem code and the pictures looked like the grey VW packaging but as your review conclude, it's Febi.  That said, they say oem quality. Not sure who the supplier is for VW but from my searching I don't think you'll get genuine for less than £18 per litre that you have already sourced so maybe go with that! Usually there is a few vw/audi dealerships selling brake fluid / dsg oil / engine oil on ebay but that spec of gear oil as a genuine VW product appears quite rare generally.
