10 color led

Featured Replies

Is there any information if you can get 10 color option with a software update? Mine is a my16 and I love too get that option!

Since the MY17 (where this is std) is not built yet it is impossible to say if it will need a hardware change or possibly just a software update as we do not know what the MY17 cars will come fitted with.

If you can change to about every known color in the world using vscd, don't you think it's just a matter of pushing the "colorbutton" 10 times instead of 3? After a software update I mean!

The colour changes are actually very limited, as in if you want for example red then it is ‘just’ red rather than any shade of red you want, this is no doubt down to the LED’s used.

Then i must've of miss understood. When I read the vcds thread it says that you can try different numbers to get what color you want. But I don't know anything about coding so I take your word for it!

Yes that is true, you put in the RGB codes to get the colour change, you can go from pink to red but not to say deep red etc, I would estimate that of the 100+ colour possibilities you can do by changing the RGB values only 10 or so will actually work on the S3,

I coded a brand new S3 a couple of weeks ago and the RBG values actually differed on my car (tried coding cool white and it produced more of a warm white)

I would love the updated 10 colours but in all honesty, once you pick a colour I doubt you will change it.

I would be happy with just two options. Red and blue. It's the only colors I want to be able to flick between! Blue is already there so it's just the red one a need too get.

have modified only one of tree colors

1st colour (warm white): 160 / 167 / 18 -->> orangered:	255 / 69 / 0
2nd colour (green): 58 / 245 / 4
3rd colour (Blue): 20 / 170 / 254

Do you think this is something I can ask a skoda workshop too do or will they not do any vcds job? Hard to find anyone in Sweden and I'm a bit paranoid letting someone do such work on a brand new car without any guarantee!

Where do you live in Sweden?

I'm on vacation in July this summer in Sweden.

I have original Ross-Tech cable.

Will this not affect my warranty if I'll make changes using vcds?

Do others find that the trim lights are not visible during the day, irrespective of hoe bright you put them?

Fine at night, but not bright enough during he day.

No, it’s no different than say tuning the radio into a different setting... all you are doing is changing a setting to one which the car is capable of, you are not increasing it’s performance etc so it will have no effect on the way it works.

Yes, but why do you need them on during daylight anyway? they are an ambient light for low light conditions.

No real need for them, its just a different behaviour from the ambient lights in previous audi - with those you would get a subtle glow in the colour of your choice during the day and then proper ambient lighting at night, in the skoda there is no colour at all to the trim during the day, but its fine at night. Given they are both VAG products I had expected them to behave the same, but having said that I'm not fussed that you cant see them during the day :)

You can actually get them to come on during the day, but you need the rear lights to be coded to come on with the DRL’s... but even then they are barely noticeable.

Anyone know what the RGB values would be for a red colour ? I'm trying this out on my 2016 Golf and so far have tried

R (255), G (0), B(0)

with no success (of course it could be th Golf doesn't have the multicolour LED's, but with the GTD being White, the GTI red and the R blue, it would seem crazy for them to have different coloured LED units for each model ?)?

it looks like that

Looks like the 3rd, 7th and 9th are the original colours and the rest are new.. I think the graphics could be a little better but really I'm just being picky. I'm pretty stoked to pick up the extra 7 colours on my car :-)

Where's the red ?

Where's the red ?

4th colour.

4th colour.

Humm... I think 4th colour is the orange and the 3rd the cinnamon (or vice versa)

Here is from ours skoda side.cabda433c53ee480f309269d67c066f6.jpg

It's looking red here.

Yes, now I see red :-D

Thanks, oddvaoes.
