weird stretch look

Yep and don't think mot man will like that.

Think it will look rubbish too.as i'm only 30mm lower.

MOT man can't do anything about it as it's within the manufacturers recommendations.

I don't think going from 7.5" to 9" will make a lot of dynamic difference - just looks.  Maybe best to fiddle with spacers?

I could ask if i could try one before i bought.

Brad.....lol

Me again Found some wheel's finally.

Question is will they fit 18x8J ET40

Will they be ok or need spacer's?

I really have no idea on what number's mean,i know 18" 8J that's about it.

Many Thanks

Yep, they will work.

I had 17x8 ET35 which stuck out past the front guards about 7mm.  The ET40 will sit 5mm further inwards.

Or, to compare with your current 18x7.5 ET50 rims, they will sit 16mm further outwards.  Do you reckon that will work?

This is 8" ET35

Where do i measure the 16mm rim of alloy?

Is that each side too?

My suspension has fully settled now.And for me is quite low.

Can you see any issue's?

Whilst uploading pictures i think i will struggle with 16mm?

Outwards, from the edge of the rim - or even the tyre.

Just get a straight edge and lay it vertically against the tyre & nudge it up agaisnts the top of the wheel arch and measure 16mm outwards.  You'll soon work out whether they will fit or not

What did you do with the old hubs?

I'm going to do a brake upgrade but mine has the caliper carriers cast into the hub...

They were weighed in i'm afraid.Sorry

Best bet is do what i did and buy the legs whole.

No worries cheers.????

What did you do with the old hubs?

I'm going to do a brake upgrade but mine has the caliper carriers cast into the hub...

The cast in carriers are a 50mm strut.  If you are doing the upgrade you have to do the struts & the hub.  I can't remember if the bearings are interchangeable.

You would be better off trying to buy all the bits from a wreck.

For the amount of faffing, it might be easier to fit a premium pad & rotor.

Cheers @brat1.8t will just go the route vrs055 and collect all the bits together,

I've come over to Skoda from vw so every days a school day I'm slowly picking up what's what...????????

Thanks again lads...

Ps the.?? Are supposed to be thumbs up....

Nice one vrsRo55

I managed to find the nsf also so now I have the full set up cheep as chips

Okay on a serious note, i have encountered a massive problem. If you have done this modification.

Check your balljoint nut hub end.

The steel insert has come loose and because the nut was same size it came through !!!

Not 2 night's ago i was doing 140MPH on a runway. This could have been horrific if it actually came off, even at 10+ MPH.

Lucky for me i had some proper nut's with washer's.

Also same applies to track rod end's.

Do not put it off,do it now!!!

Crikey that's scarey...

My front end arrived today I'm over the moon..

Alloy hubs and arms calipers have been rebuilt recently and the pads discs and wheel bearings are brand new..

And best of all the discs are 310mm...

All I need now is polls bushes...
